The confirmed PC date and time
Fellow Traveller’s September 29 announcement states the revised date and the 10am PT launch time. The release-date field in the collected Steam app data agrees with October 16. Together they establish the intended PC schedule more precisely than earlier material that gave only a broad year or month.
The time-zone conversions on this page refer to that specific October date. Pacific Time is the reference used by the announcement, and Eastern Time is three hours ahead on that day. The UTC equivalent is 17:00, giving readers a common reference without changing the announced moment.
Why October 8 still appears in older material
The official announcement explicitly acknowledges the earlier October 8 plan. That explains why a genuine older trailer can display a date that no longer matches the latest schedule. Its historical description does not outweigh a later announcement that directly addresses the change.
October 8 also appears in the announcement as the planned launch-trailer presentation date. A trailer premiere and the release of the playable full game are different events. Reading the surrounding sentence is therefore essential when an isolated date is copied into a search result or video description.
How the Steam date supports the announcement
The app-details response recorded during research provides a second official representation of the scheduled day. PC Gamer’s calendar also places Penguin Colony on October 16. That agreement is useful, but the calendar is a summary rather than a live check of whether the purchase has unlocked.
The same API response still marked the game coming soon when it was collected. A date field and an availability flag can coexist during the hours leading up to release. This page preserves that distinction instead of turning the arrival of the calendar day into an unsupported “out now” claim.
PC timing does not settle the Switch 2 date
Gematsu’s story-trailer article describes a PC Steam release followed by Switch 2. That wording establishes a platform distinction rather than a simultaneous unlock across every announced edition. The PC announcement should therefore be read as an answer about the Steam version.
No separate final Switch 2 unlock time was verified in the collected material. This does not supply a reason to copy the PC time onto a console listing. If the console edition is the one you want, use a platform-specific official announcement when checking its eventual schedule.
Use the live listing for present availability
The official Steam page is the practical follow-up once you know the announced schedule. Its current release and purchase interface are more useful for a question such as whether you can buy and launch the game right now. This article’s research date identifies when its supporting snapshot was taken.
A remaining coming-soon label should not be interpreted as a newly announced delay by itself. Likewise, an older trailer should not be treated as evidence that the revised date was cancelled. The documented change is the one the publisher actually announced, from October 8 to October 16.
Keep the release answer separate from demo access
The research also records a public demo entry on Steam, which is separate from the full game’s scheduled release. Seeing the demo available does not establish that the purchased campaign has unlocked. That distinction helps explain why players could try Penguin Colony before the release date discussed here.
Use the demo page for the trial’s scope and download location, and use the Steam article for the full product’s declared platform features. The walkthrough material then addresses what published demo accounts observed after starting to play. None of those subjects changes the official PC date stated in the September announcement.
