Penguin Colony Tenebris Somnia Bundle: Is the Deal Worth It?

Steam sells a Tenebris Somnia + Penguin Colony bundle because both indie horror games launched on October 16, 2026. At our check it cost $26.78 instead of $31.98 bought separately at full price. Since each game also had its own introductory discount until October 30, the bundle mainly helps if you want both or already own one.

Why these two games appear together

Penguin Colony and Tenebris Somnia share a release day and a broad horror audience, so Steam lists a joint bundle on the Penguin Colony store page. They come from different teams: ORIGAME DIGITAL with Fellow Traveller, and Andrés Borghi with Saibot Studios under New Blood Interactive. They are not sequels, crossovers or set in the same universe.

Searches combining both names usually come from players who saw them side by side in launch-week lists. This page compares them so you can decide whether to buy one, both or neither. Prices below are a snapshot and can change at any time.

Bundle price at launch

The bundle listed a full combined price of $31.98 and a bundle price of $26.78, a 16% discount. Separately, Penguin Colony was $14.99 with 10% off, and Tenebris Somnia was $24.99 with 20% off until October 30. Adding the two introductory sale prices gives a figure close to the bundle total.

Steam bundles usually adjust the price for games you already own, so the deal can be more useful after buying one of them. The Penguin Colony page also lists a Deluxe Edition with its soundtrack and a 1000xRESIST pairing. Compare the live totals on the day you buy.

What Tenebris Somnia is

Tenebris Somnia is a 2D retro survival horror adventure that mixes pixel-art play with live-action cutscenes filmed by an Argentine crew. Xbox Wire describes the blend of blood, pixels and practical effects behind those scenes. You solve puzzles, manage threats and uncover the story through cinematic sequences.

At our check its Steam reviews were Very Positive, with 96% of 135 user reviews recommending it. It supports achievements, trading cards and Steam Cloud on Windows. Its storage requirement is about 13 GB, far larger than Penguin Colony's 2 GB.

How the two experiences differ

Penguin Colony is a short third-person walking-simulator and exploration game played as a colony of penguins. Reviewers place its length around three hours and describe its horror as atmospheric rather than frightening. Movement, narration and discovering secrets carry the experience.

Tenebris Somnia leans toward classic survival horror, with puzzles, combat pressure and full voice support in five languages. Its 2D pixel style and filmed scenes make it a very different evening from Penguin Colony's lo-fi 3D Antarctica. Owning both gives a contrast of slow cosmic dread and traditional survival tension.

Should you buy the bundle?

Choose the bundle if you already planned to try both launch-week horror games, or if you own one and Steam reduces the remaining price. Choose Penguin Colony alone if you mainly want a short narrative piece about Lovecraft and penguins. The free Penguin Colony demo is a low-risk way to test its movement first.

Before buying, check whether the introductory discounts are still active, because the advantage over separate purchases can shrink or grow. Both games are Windows titles on Steam. Our review roundup summarizes how critics received Penguin Colony at launch.
